Supercover Licensed Trade Policy Summary

This is a summary of the policy and does not contain the full terms and conditions of the cover, which can be found in the policy document. It is important that you read the policy document carefully when you receive it.

Name of the Insurer

The insurer of the policy is Aviva Insurance Limited trading as Norwich Union.

Type of insurance and cover
The Supercover Licensed Trade policy provides a comprehensive range of covers, specifically tailored to meet the needs of Clubs. The policy also offers the flexibility to select from a wide range of optional covers and services.

Property Damage
There is a choice of cover for your buildings and contents
· Specified Risks or All Risks. Fire and Specified Contingencies – includes loss or damage from specific causes – fire, lightning, earthquake, explosion, aircraft, riot, civil commotion, strikers, locked-out workers, persons taking part in labour disturbances or malicious persons, storm or flood, escape of water from any tank apparatus or pipe, falling trees or radio/TV aerials, impact, theft or attempted theft, leakage of fuel, leakage of bulk supplied beverages.

All Risks – includes all of the above plus accidental damage.
The cover extends to include:
· Property in Transit up to £2,500
· Seasonal Increase of 50% for stock
· Loss of keys if stolen from the premises up to £1,000

· Wear and tear, gradual deterioration, faulty or defective design, materials or workmanship
· Mechanical or electrical breakdown or derangement
· Unexplained disappearance
· Theft or attempted theft where you or your partners, directors, employees or household members are involved or from any building not capable of being locked
· Damage due to escape of water from tanks and pipes, in respect of buildings which are unoccupied
· Damage to moveable property in the open by theft, wind, rain, hail, sleet, snow, flood, dust
· Changes in the water table
· Coastal/River Erosion (if subsidence is included)
· The first part of any claim (your excess).

· Theft cover for property in the open up to £2,000.
· Glass
· Temporary Removal of contents (other than stock) anywhere in the European Union up to 15% of the sum insured.
· Paintings or other works of art up to £2,000 any one occurrence
· Business Cover Away from the Premises anywhere within Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man including whilst in transit up to 15% of the Sum Insured or £2,500 in respect of any one item.
· Loss of Metered Water up to £5,000 any one occurrence.
· Automatic cover for buildings and machinery that you purchase during the period of insurance up to 10% of the total Building and Machinery Sum Insured or £100,000 whichever if the lower, in respect of any one location.
· Damage by Frost to the All Other Contents item up to £1,500 any one occurrence.
· Lamps, Signs and Nameplates up to £250 any one item
· Fire Brigade Damage to Gardens up to £1,000 any one occurrence
· Damage to Gardens and Grounds caused by Fire or Lightning up to £1,000 any one occurrence
· Costs and Expenses in locating the source of water damage up to £10,000 in any one period of insurance.
· Landlord’s and Manager’s Alternative Accommodation costs up to £10,000 any one occurrence. Option Covers
· Buildings and/or Tenants Improvements is an optional cover.
· Terrorism
· Subsidence, ground heave and landslip.

Money
Loss of money belonging to your business or for which You are responsible, on your premises, in transit, on site, at the private homes of key staff, and in any bank night safe.

Cover includes
· Money in vending or gaming machines – £1,000 limit.
Seasonal Increase of 20% on any Public Bank Holiday and for a period of 48 hours.

· Shortages due to clerical or accounting errors
· Losses due to the fraud or dishonesty of any employees not discovered within seven working days
· Loss from unattended vehicles
· Loss arising outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

Assault
Bodily injury to you or your employees as a result of assault or attempted assault whilst in the course of carrying out their activities associated with the business.
Each unit provides up to £10,000.

Frozen Foods
Deterioration of foods following the breakdown of refrigeration units or accidental failure of the public electricity supply Up to £5,000 per unit.

· Failure to correctly set the thermostat 25% of each and every loss for refrigeration units of 15 years or older at the time of Damage Employee Dishonesty Cover that protects you against loss of money and other property owned by You as a result of any acts of fraud or dishonesty by any of Your Employees

Cover includes:
· Professional fees required to establish extent of loss
· Cost of labour to reinstate destroyed or erased computer records

· loss caused by or involving any Employee:
- who You do not have the right to supervise and direct
- who at the time of committing any act of fraud or dishonesty controls more than a 5% interest or share in the Policyholder
- subsequent to discovery by You of actual or suspected dishonesty by the Employee
- whose normal place of employment is outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
- whom You are unable to identify by name
· the Employee Dishonesty Excess
· any loss the proof of which is dependent upon an inventory calculation or a profit and loss calculation alone
· loss of a consequential nature including but not limited to loss of potential income interest and dividends
· penalties and fines loss covered by the Money & Assault Sections of this Policy except for any amount in excess of that Section.

Engineering
Cover for the Property Insured at The Premises, as stated in the Policy Schedule caused by your selected contingency:
You can select from:
· Sudden and Unforeseen Damage
· Breakdown, Explosion or Collapse Cover includes:
· Temporary Hire of Replacement Plant or Machinery
· Supplementary Expenses incurred as a result of temporarily repairing Damage to Property insured and ensuring the Damage to Property Insured is repaired as soon as possible, the maximum we will pay for any or all claims arising out of one cause is £10,000

· Damage caused by or consisting of fire, lightning or explosion (except explosion as defined in this section), aircraft or aerial devices or articles dropped from them, storm, flood or inundation from the sea, theft or attempted theft and sprinkler leakage
· Gradual deterioration or wear and tear
· Damage caused by wilful acts or wilful neglect
· The first part of any claim (your excess)

Home
All Risks cover on Home Contents belonging to You, or for which You are responsible within the house or flat and its outbuildings, used only for domestic purposes.

Cover includes:
· Personal Possessions anywhere in the European Union.
· Anywhere in the world for a maximum of 60 days in any one period of insurance
· Replacement Locks
· Personal Liability

· Loss or damage caused by
- wear and tear, deterioration, insect, mildew, vermin, atmospheric conditions, action of light or other gradually operating cause
- the process of cleaning, dyeing, repairing restoring or maintenance of any item
- electrical or mechanical breakdown, derangement, maintenance or fault or by electrical defect leakage or cut-out.
· Damage to
- sports equipment while in use
- Skis (including sticks and bindings), snowboards, water skis, subaqua (diving) equipment, camping equipment and riding tack
- Contact and corneal cap or micro lenses and hearing aids (unless specified)
- Securities (stocks and shares)
- Furniture, furnishings, household goods and equipment and food and drink
- living creatures
· Business or professional use of musical instruments, photographic and sporting equipment and accessories
· Personal Money and credit and debit cards
· Theft from an unattended vehicle (other than from a locked and concealed boot, concealed luggage compartment or closed glove compartment of a securely locked vehicle which has been broken into by

We will not pay more than £1,000 for any one incident.
· Damage caused by or happening through Confiscation or detention by Customs or officials.
· Loss or damage which can be claimed under other insurance.
· Motorised vehicles, aircraft, boats, boards craft that are designed to be used on or caravans, trailers and cycles, and the parts, and accessories of any of these.
· Indirect loss
· In respect of pedal cycles
- loss or damage while being used for racing or business purposes
- Theft while away from the Home, unless building or securely locked to an object cannot be moved
· Damage to any property or appliance caused or resulting from that property or appliance any part of it (whether belonging to You or not) failing to correctly recognize or respond date.
· Restricted cover applies if the Home is left Unoccupied for more than 60 days in a row
· Malicious Damage caused by You or paying guests or tenants
· Damage resulting from coastal wearing away.
· Damage to Contents of Freezers or fridges caused by a power cut due to a deliberate act, or to strikes by the company supplying Yourpower

Revenue Protection

Loss of Revenue
Interruption to your business following an insured loss under the Property Damage section, which results in reduced revenue and increased running costs.

The cover extends to include:
· Disease, infestation or defective sanitation at the premises, Limit £25,000.
· Specified human infectious disease outbreak within 10 miles of the premises resulting in cancellation of bookings for accommodation and other services provided at the Premises, Limit £25,000
· Damage to property in the vicinity of the premises which hinders or prevents access to The Premises.
· Damage at your suppliers premises up to
£25,000 any one occurrence
· Accidental Failure of public supplies of electricity or gas or water at the terminal ends of the public supply undertakings feed to the Premises lasting at least 30 minutes
· Accidental Failure of telecommunications at the premises at the incoming line terminals or receivers at The Premises last at least 24 hours, Limit £100 for each day in respect of any one
failure and £2,500 in respect of all failures in any One Period of Insurance.
· Action by the Police Authority due to damage or disturbance in the vicinity of the Premises which last at least 4 hours. The maximum we will pay is £100,000 or 10% of the Sum Insured shown in the Schedule.
· Damage to Your Property in Transit by road, rail or inland waterway all within Great Britain or Northern Ireland up to £5,000 any one occurrence.
· Interruption or interference with The Business as a result of extremes of weather which prevents all access by customers or suppliers, Limit £10,000
· Loss Resulting from interruption or interference, lasting more than 24 hours, with the Business as a result of prevention of access to The Premises by electric, gas, road, sewage or water workings in the vicinity which are not as a result of You or the Landlord’s instructions
· Damage to Boilers or other equipment in which internal pressure is due to steam only on The Premises.

Cover can be extended to include terrorism cover.

Revenue Protection continued

Book Debts Cover for the cost of tracing and establishing how much your customers owe you and the amount of any unpaid debts which cannot be traced following loss of or damage to your business books or records.

· Deliberate falsification
· Erasure of information on computer system records due to inherent defects
· Mislaying or misfiling, damp and mildew.
Loss of Licence

The reduction in value of your interest in the premises or in the business as a result of forfeiture due to licensing regulations or refusal to renew by the licensing authority due to causes beyond your control.

· Where You can obtain statutory compensation for Loss of Licence
· Arising out of any town or country planning, improvement or redevelopment
· Compulsory purchase or surrender
· Reduction or redistribution of licences
· A change in the law.
· There being less than the minimum number of members required by law

Legal Liabilities

Employers’ Liability Protection against your legal liabilities for bodily injury to your employees up to a limit of indemnity of £10,000,000 including costs and expenses.

Cover includes:
· Legal costs and expenses in defending prosecutions under all relevant health and safety legislation.
· Worldwide cover for employees normally resident in the UK who are temporarily working abroad
· Liability for loss of or damage to premises hired or rented to you for your business
· Legal costs and expenses in defending prosecutions under all relevant health and safety legislation, Consumer Protection Act 1987 and Food Safety Act 1990.

· Cover for acts of terrorism is limited to £5,000,000 per event
· Liability in respect of liquidated damages, penalty clauses and fines
· Bodily injury to an employee carried in or on, entering or alighting a vehicle where Road Traffic Act legislation applies
· Work in or on, or travel to or from any offshore installation or support vessel.

Public and Products Liability Protection against your legal liability for bodily injury to third parties and damage to their property, including obstruction, trespass, nuisance, interference, wrongful arrest and eviction.

The cover extends to include:
· Contingent motor third party liability arising out of the use of vehicles not owned by you within the UK
· Liability for employees’ and visitors personal effects

· Cover for acts of terrorism is limited to £2,000,000 for any one event
· Loss or damage to property in your custody of control or to products supplied
· Gradual pollution or contamination
· Work in or on or travel to or from or within products supplied to any offshore installation or support vessel
· Liquidated damages, penalty clauses, fines or punitive damages

· Personal liability where you or your family live on the premises
· Liability for loss of or damage to premises hired or rented to you for your business
· Legal costs and expenses in defending prosecutions under all relevant health and safety legislation, Consumer Protection Act 1987 and Food Safety Act 1990.
· Liability for guests property deposited with you for safe keeping unless valuables and money are kept in a safe or strong room
· The first part of any claim (your excess) stated in the Policy Schedule
· Exposure to, inhalation of, fears of the consequences of exposure to/inhalation of, costs incurred in repairing, removing, replacing, recalling, rectifying, reinstating or managing any property arising out of presence of Asbestos Commercial Legal Protection Protection for legal costs and expenses arising from specified civil and criminal incidents in connection with your business.
· Employment Disputes, Compensation Awards and Service Occupancy – defence of your legal rights under employment legislation and following a successful action by an employee, prospective, alleged or ex-employee we will pay any compensation award made. In addition, negotiation to recover possession of premises owned by you from them.
· Legal Defence – defence for you or an employee acting on your behalf if any criminal action or certain civil action is taken against you for any non-motor related incident arising in connection with the business. Including prosecution under health and safety legislation and data protection rules.
· Property Protection – protection for civil action following any event causing or likely to cause physical damage to your property or any nuisance or trespass.
· Bodily Injury – cover to negotiate your, your employees or family members legal rights, following bodily injury (non-motor related) which occurs in connection with the business.
· Full or Aspects Enquiries and VAT Disputes representation in appeal proceedings with the Inland Revenue in a full or aspect enquiry following your corporation tax self-assessment return and appeal proceedings with HM Customs and Excise in respect of Value Added Tax due.
· Contract Disputes – cover to negotiate disputes relating to a contract you have entered into with a customer or supplier for the purchase or sale of goods or service where the amount in dispute exceeds £250.
· Tenancy Disputes – negotiating your legal rights in a tenancy dispute between you and your landlord not relating to rent, service Please refer to the Commercial Legal Protection section of the policy booklet
· In respect of civil cases, the cover is subject to the case having prospects of winning or making a successful defence
· Claims must be reported within 180 days of you becoming aware of an incident
· Any costs and expenses incurred before the written acceptance by us or the claims administrator of a claim
· In respect of compensation awards you must
· follow the advice of the legal helpline or the
· Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Scheme (ACAS) code of Disciplinary Practice and Procedures in Employment for cover to be effective
· In respect of redundancies you must follow the advice of the legal helpline prior to serving notice of dismissal
· The first £200 of each and every claim in respect of aspect enquires
· Claims caused by your failure to register for Value Added Tax and any investigations by the Inland Revenue Special Investigations Section or Special Compliance Office Investigations by HM Customs into alleged dishonesty or criminal offences
· For contract disputes the first £500 of any claim where the amount in dispute exceeds £5,000
· Any claim relating to the settlement under an insurance policy
· For contract disputes and debt recovery, a claim must be made within 90 days of the money becoming due.

· Statutory Licence – appeal to the relevant statutory or regulatory body, court or tribunal following the suspension, revocation, change or refusal to renew your statutory licence.
· Debt Recovery – cover to negotiate your legal rights including enforcement of judgement to recover money and interest due from a customer or supplier following the sale or provision of goods and services where the amount in dispute exceeds £250 If a solicitor is required to deal with your legal problem, DAS will appoint one from their approved panel.

These solicitors have been carefully chosen as experts in the areas of the law covered by the policy and are required to comply with strict service standards Directors & Officers Liability Cover that protects you whilst performing your duties as a director, officer, trustee or Committee Member

Cover includes:

- you, your director, officer, trustee or committee member may be liable to pay
- the spouse, heir or legal representative of a director may be legally liable for
- in the event of any action or proceedings brought against a director by the company or another director arising from a wrongful act of a director

Employee Benefits
Covers, features and benefits Exceptions and limitations

Personal Accident Cover for You or and your employees for accidental bodily injury resulting in death, permanent or temporary disablement. One unit of cover represents:
· £5,000 for death and capital benefits
· £50 per week for temporary total disablement.
A maximum of ten units per person can be taken.
Cover can be provided on a 24 hour basis or for occupational accidents only.

· Cover for acts of terrorism is limited to £1,000,000 per event and excludes harm by nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological means
· Sickness, disease or any gradually operating cause
· Suicide, attempted suicide or deliberate exposure to danger
· Pregnancy or childbirth
· Flying except while travelling in a aircraft of a recognised airline as a passenger
· Accidents caused through participation in certain hazardous activities
· The effects of alcohol or drugs or any treatment for drug addiction.

Duration of policy

The policy will remain in force for 12 months from date of commencement, or as otherwise shown on
your policy schedule.

Right of cancellation

If you are an individual/sole trader (including a partnership in England and Wales) buying a policy which
provides cover for you in both a private and business capacity, you have the right to cancel your policy
during a period of 14 days either from the day of purchase of the contract or the day on which you
receive your policy documentation, whichever is the later. A full explanation of the cancellation rights
can be found in the policy documentation.

day, 365 days a year. Please have your policy number to hand when calling.

service.

Our service to you

We hope that you will be very happy with the service we provide. However, if for any reason you are unhappy with this, we would like to hear from you. In the first instance, please contact your insurance adviser or usual Norwich Union point of contact. Full details of our complaints procedure will be set out in your policy document. We are covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service. If you have complained to us and we have been
unable to resolve your complaint, you may then be entitled to refer it to this independent body. The
Financial Ombudsman Service is available to individuals, certain small businesses, charities and trusts.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). If we cannot meet our obligations you may be entitled to compensation from the scheme, depending on the type of insurance and circumstances of any claim.
